We are here!

We are here in province! After about 28 hours of travel with layovers. we arrived late yeserday afternoon in Guizhou. I can't tell you how proud I am of these girls. They did SO unbelievably well. (better than the adults....ha!)The trip was pretty much drama-free. Well, except for Beijing. We knew we would have to get our bags at customs, and recheck them. They told us our domestic flight from Beijing to Guizhou was in a different terminal. Well.....more like a different airport! There were no ticketing gates where we were, so we had to load all 4 HUGE checked bags, and 5 carryons onto a bug taking us to to the other terminal, which was at least couple of miles away. The only people on the bus that seemed will with the holdup of us loading all of our bags were American....go figure! But, we made it through and all is well.
Our rep has been great so far. She asked us when we wanted Piper, and we told her ASAP, so she arranged for us us to go the provincial offices tomorrow (Sunday) and get our girl. Please continue to pray with us and for us. We love you guys!

We've landed in Korea....waiting to go on to Beijing

We arrived here in Seoul, Korea about 50 minutes ago. Its a ghost town here right now. We are the ONLY ones in the concourse at the moment....let's hope we are at the right place...ha! I didn't think I would get to update until later but we have about 2 hours and 45 minutes  until our next flight.

Our girls were AMAZING on the flight. I couldn't have imagined them doing any better. They didn't sleep a whole lot...but they did sleep some, and colored and played. We are SO proud of them. We still have about 8 hours of travel left so we aren't home free, but we're praying they're at least half as good til we get to Guizhou as they have been already....and we'll be good.

Its still sinking in why we're here! We reminded Emma and  Ava we were getting Piper on Monday. Ava's Response? But Monday is Library Day! Let's hope she likes this better than library day. Ems is doing great.

Love you guys!

Leaving Tomorrow!

I can't quite wrap my head around the fact that we are leaving for China tomorrow! I am very emotional today as we prepare to go....I feel unmeasurably blessed. I keep remembering when we were getting ready to leave to go get Emma. I was 25 years old, 31 weeks pregnant, and getting on an airplane to go to Russia to meet my daughter. I was a first time mom with no idea how hard it could be to be a mom, but also with no idea how wonderful it was and how much love a heart could hold! (sorry, I said I was emotional. Forgive me, guys!)

Today, like most days lately, I keep thinking of Piper. You see, the orphanage? Its all she knows. Good, bad, indifferent, its all she knows. I keep thinking of how excited we are going to be next Monday, waiting to meet her, but how she will have no idea how much her little world is going to change. I wish God could whisper to her heart in a way she could understand. She has a mama. She has a daddy. Two sisters. And a huge family that already loves and is praying for her. But, I know next week is going to be hard on our sweet girl. I have mentioned this to many of you, so sorry if you are hearing it again. They will bring her to us, and after visiting a while, they will go, and she will be ours. To us that is wonderful! To her, I can't imagine how terrifying it may be. Please be praying for Piper in the next week. And for us. That we will be able to parent in her in just the way she needs, putting our needs aside and just focusing on showing this little one what it really means to be loved.

Thank you all for your prayers! We will try to update the blog as much as we can. I know I have loved following the blogs of those going before me. To my internet friends waiting: This is going to be you before you know it! If I could wrap your little ones in my arms and give them hugs and kisses, I would.

Travel Approval!!!!!!!!!!

We received our travel approval yesterday! Although I was hoping for it, logically I thought we had another week wait. Basically this is China saying we can come. So, now all we are waiting for is for the US Consulate to give us an appointment time....we could be leaving as early as next Wednesday, as late as Nov 10th. Either way, we are about to get our baby! We are so excited and so thankful. Will update more as we get more info.

Could this be our week????

I mentioned last week that we were officially waiting for our TA (Travel Approval). Before the week long holiday in China, these things were coming like crazy....several families got them in as little as 4 days after their Article 5 pickup (forgive the adoption lingo, just no other way to put it). We received Article 5 on Oct 7th, and have been waiting since then. While I tried to tell myself TA wouldn't come last week, it was a very disasppointing week, not just for me, but for many waiting families.

I am hoping and praying this is our week. I kind of think we'll have one more week of wait at a minimum, but am hoping I am wrong. Basically, after TA comes, all we have to do is try to get in a Consulate Appt, and we can go!!! Right now, CA's are booking about a month out. Stinks, but at this point I will take what we can get.

Hang on Piper, we're coming as quickly as we can, sweet girl! We love you!Photobucket

Almost There!

We are getting Closer!!!

So we are getting closer. We are now just waiting for an approval for travel....once that comes we can see what appointments there are in China at the Consulate. Our agency says 2-4 weeks for this approval, but obviously we are hoping and praying for sooner.....
